Residency Requirements
The EGOM degree is administered through a combination of residence- and distance learning-based courses. On-campus sessions are scheduled each May and June over a four-week period. During this time, two two-week courses are held back-to-back. Participants may choose to attend the first two-week session, or the second two-week session to complete one course, or may attend all four weeks to complete two courses. Courses are scheduled Monday through Friday from 8 a.m – 12:15 p.m. which allows time in the afternoons to check in with the office or complete team-based assignments. Participants must attend a minimum of 6 credit hours (20%) on campus (not consecutively) throughout the program.
Web-based Courses
Web courses are offered in the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters and begin with an on-campus "kick-off" weekend requiring one overnight stay. During this time, participants collect needed books and materials, meet the instructor and their classmates, and receive eight to 10 hours of introductory instruction face-to-face. The remainder of the course is completed over a 10-12-week semester from a home or office location using the Internet and telephone conferencing. The instructor leads weekly online sessions, making it possible for all course participants to speak with and hear the instructor and each other in "real time", creating a virtual classroom environment and more closely simulating the on-campus interactive experience.
Program Duration
Most participants complete the program in three to five years, although it is possible to finish in less than three years taking advantage of all Web courses offered.
