4+1 Programs

Clarkson University's School of Business has established 4+1 agreements with a number of U.S. and Canadian universities that allow you to plan your undergraduate program to include courses that will serve as a foundation for graduate study in business.

4+1 agreements may allow qualified undergraduate students completing a baccalaureate degree to earn the MBA in just one year. An undergraduate major in business or economics is not required. These foundation courses include material required in the first year of study in most MBA programs.

Foundation requirements include the following subjects and must be completed with a grade of C or better:

  • Financial Accounting
  • Principles of Microeconomics
  • Managerial Accounting
  • Principles of Macroeconomics
  • Statistics
  • Business Law
  • Operation/Production Management
  • Principles of Marketing
  • Corporate Finance
  • Organizational Behavior
  • Computer course

If you are currently enrolled, you can select electives in order to complete most of the foundation courses as a part of your undergraduate program. Or, you may take any or all the foundation courses during our summer Business Concepts Program at Clarkson. Courses may also be taken at another institution with prior approval from the Director of the Graduate Business Program prior to the beginning of the MBA program.
