Communication & Media
The rapidly growing field of Communication & Media provides career opportunities for professionals combining solid communication skills with emerging technologies.
Communicators work with digital video and audio, graphics, and on-line text, along with traditional spoken and written media, to construct effective communications. They work in areas ranging from multimedia development, computer documentation and digital video production, to journalism and medicine.
Clarkson's Communication program offers a framework of core communication skills with in-depth specializations in allied fields, like computer science, management, biology and psychology.
Students are often called on to participate in research and development projects with our faculty, who are internationally recognized for their expertise in increasing understanding of how people communicate and work.
Recent research projects include designing corporate training modules, measuring communication effectiveness in telemedicine applications, and exploring the effects of various communication media on out-of-class learning.
