OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Project Administrator collaborates with the University department managers (customers) in the coordination, design and supervision of office relocations, renovations and campus improvement projects. This position is key to realizing the University Master Plan by helping to create space to enhance programs across campus. With support from a values-based team, this role is crucial to increasing efficiencies between departments and among resources as we work toward a common goal of maximizing the use of University assets. In addition, this person will assist the IT staff as it endeavors to move to the next generation of computing. We will move from data processing to decision assistance systems.
WORK PERFORMED:
• Meet with individual departments (customers) to analyze space and business needs
• Assist customers in realizing best practices alternatives
• Provide focal point for cross-campus consistencies
• Present concept ideas to architect and work to a desired final design
• Communicate architect’s concepts with customer and seek feedback
• Obtain code drawings, cost estimates and building permits necessary
• Work with University trades crew to see construction projects to completion
• Ensure customer needs are heard and met
• Coordinate and communicate office moves and construction phases and schedules
• Work with off- campus construction contractors to include asbestos testing, asbestos abatement, carpeting and any other systems needed to complete job
• Act as the point of contact and mediator for all groups involved in project
• Ensure the customer’s experience is a enjoyable as possible
• Ensure customer satisfaction and project completion
• Assist departments with Business Process Reengineering to help gain efficiencies
• Help communicate the message of decisions assistant systems
• Work closely with the CIO to help integrate data into our culture
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree; enjoys interacting with people; exhibits outstanding judgment and professionalism; thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, portrays a positive attitude and can manage the unknowns and challenges that come with construction moving projects. Strong communication skills, listening skills and customer service mindset are required.
