Engineering & Management
Clarkson's degree program in Interdisciplinary Engineering & Management (iE&M) spans the boundaries between engineering and management to provide a powerful combination of skills and knowledge. iE&M attracts talented young students — just like you — who explore varied academic interests and gain a broad, solid foundation for a wide range of careers. The program also meets industry's need for people having the problem-solving mentality of an engineer and business acumen of a manager. We're known for producing graduates whose versatility enables them to contribute in numerous ways to industry's ever-changing needs.
The iE&M program evenly balances courses in business and engineering/science. But you can also tailor the curriculum to your personal academic or career objectives. As a first-year student, you get a chance to experience an integrated engineering/management course in product design and commercialization. As part of a team, you'll design the prototype of a tangible product and get exposure to engineering and manufacturing principles. Your team will test market the prototype, and develop a marketing plan for commercial introduction. Plus, you'll have access to computer labs, engineering labs, and the assistance of science and engineering students to complete your project.
Companies large and small are attracted to iE&M graduates because they have the ability to solve problems from several perspectives, a versatility that comes through teamwork, and the savvy that comes from Clarkson's technology-rich environment.
Clarkson also offers graduate degrees in both business and engineering.
