Congratulations to Clarkson School Students, Alumni and Staff

Clarkson University Recognition Day was held on April 15, 2007

At University Recognition Day superior scholastic attainment is recognized by the presentation of awards and the honoring of campus leaders tapped for membership in Phalanx, the senior honorary leadership society. 

The Clarkson School would like to congratulate our students, Alumni and Staff on their awards.

Keegan Lowenstein ’07 and Nicole Wilder ’07 were awarded the Clarkson School Award
A certificate and monetary award are presented to a male and female student in The Clarkson School who exemplify the ideals of academic excellence and outstanding character for which the School stands.

Chad Tessier, Director of Admission for The Clarkson School and past Director of Administration and Academic Counseling for The Clarkson School, was awarded the Recognition of Outstanding Advisors Award
At each University Recognition Day since 1979, the outstanding faculty advisors of undergraduates have been recognized.

Michael R. Tucker ’05 was awarded the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Staff Award
Awarded annually to the outstanding junior and the most promising senior in each major.  The recipients are selected by the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering faculty based on scholastic performance and other activities.  The winners will receive handbooks related to their fields of study.

Kelly Whiting ’04 was awarded the John W. Graham Jr. Leadership Award
To be given each year to a School of Business senior who has combined demonstrated academic competence with a substantial contribution to the Clarkson community.  Recipient will receive a cash award and his/her name will be inscribed on the John W. Graham Jr. Leadership Award plaque.

Margaret Murphy ’07 was awarded the Dr. Carl Michel Award
In 1955, Clarkson received a bequest of $5,000 in the will of Miss Lena J. Michel of Springfield, Ohio, for the establishment of a fund to be used for the awarding of monetary prizes to outstanding first-year students in liberal arts.

Duffy Fray ’06 was awarded the Vern Clute Memorial Academic Achievement Award
An award of $100 presented to the male and female American Indian students who at the end of the first semester of their sophomore year have high academic averages.

Sarah Brown ’05, Kathleen Jones ’05, Janine Laskoski ’04, and Kelly Whiting ‘04 were awarded the Commendable Service Award.
A limited number of Commendable Service Awards are presented annually to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and faculty, staff and administration members who have demonstrated quality in service to their area/organization.  The award candidate should be a well-rounded individual who excels in all aspects of college life and is especially dedicated to serving his or her organization.

The Clarkson School would also like to congratulate our House Advisors on their awards.

Nicole Intschert ‘09 was awarded the Commendable Service Award.
A limited number of Commendable Service Awards are presented annually to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and faculty, staff and administration members who have demonstrated quality in service to their area/organization.  The award candidate should be a well-rounded individual who excels in all aspects of college life and is especially dedicated to serving his or her organization.

Nicole Intschert ’09 was awarded the Andrews S. Ormsby Law Scholar Award
To be given to the School of Business junior who best exemplifies intellectual curiosity, respect for justice, and ethical conduct.  The winner’s name will be engraved on a plaque that is maintained in the School of Business.
