"The year at The Clarkson School marked a turning point for me. It was an entrance into a place that would open doors to opportunities I never imagined I'd be presented with. It was a wonderful year surrounded by people I could learn from and grow with".
Michael Grosky, TCS '07, Currently studying abroad at City University in Hong Kong and graduating from Clarkson University in May 2010
The Clarkson School
Early College Program for High School Students
A special division of Clarkson University, The Clarkson School is located in the town of Potsdam, New York, which is located at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and adjacent to the six-million-acre Adirondack Park. It is one of the few early college programs in the country that provides a real community learning/living experience on a university campus. For 30 years, The Clarkson School has offered ambitious incoming high school students who have typically completed their junior year of high school an unparalleled college experience - one year ahead of schedule. If you have demonstrated high interest and excellence in your academic work, we offer the early college program you have been looking for.
A Dynamic Program
The Clarkson School is unlike any other early college program in that it provides exceptional high school students with a full academic year of residency-based interdisciplinary education that balances intellectual rigor and practical application. You would be a fully matriculated first year college student, taking a full course load alongside Clarkson undergraduates. At the same time, you will be immersed in a supportive environment with specialized programs and activities that bridge the transition between high school and college.
Simply put, you will have the best of both worlds -- access to all the resources and amenities of a nationally ranked university, with separate residential facilities, exciting activities designed with them in mind, and a faculty and staff dedicated to meeting your unique individual and collective needs.
